Training Practice

We are a training practice for doctors specialising in general practice.  These doctors will be working at the practice from time to time. 

You may also find that medical school students will occasionally observe a consultation. You will be informed in advance and if you are not happy with this, please do not hesitate to tell the reception staff.

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

The Health Visitors are based at the Pentwyn Health Centre and are able to offer advice particularly on care of the under 5’s, immunisation, feeding and behavioural problems.  They hold baby clinics on Tuesdays 1.00-2.30 pm at Pontprennau or may be contacted during the week by telephone on 02920 735 003.
