Repeat Prescriptions

All repeat prescriptions, which are authorised by the doctors, are issued by computer. To obtain a repeat prescription please leave the request slip issued with every prescription at reception. In addition to this you can also order your repeat prescription via email (reception.pontprennau@wales.nhs.uk) or via the NHS Wales app.
Alternatively you may register for our online services and order via the link at the top of this page.
Repeat prescriptions will be ready for collection 72 hours after we receive them. For example:
MONDAY prescription request will be ready for collection on THURSDAY
TUESDAY prescription request will be ready for collection on FRIDAY
WEDNESDAY prescription request will be ready for collection on MONDAY
THURSDAY prescription request will be ready for collection on TUESDAY
FRIDAY prescription request will be ready for collection on WEDNESDAY
Please also be aware that our local pharmacies need time to process your prescriptions as well.
If you speak to the GP over the phone and they issue you a prescription please do not come to the surgery or the pharmacy until after 4pm to collect it as it may not be ready.
PLEASE BE AWARE WE DO NOT TAKE PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS OVER THE TELEPHONE.
Unfortunately we are unable to deal with any prescription requests over the telephone however if you would like to place your order over the phone or would like to discuss ordering your prescription through a pharmacy you can contact your local pharmacy who can help with this request.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, pharmacist or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications. A notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
