Welcome to Pontprennau Medical Centre 

We are delighted to welcome you to our community. At Pontprennau Medical Centre, our dedicated team of healthcare professionals is committed to providing you with the highest quality care in a friendly and supportive environment.

Our services encompass general practice, preventive care, chronic disease management, and a variety of specialist treatments to address all your healthcare needs. We prioritise patient well-being and strive to ensure that every visit is a positive experience. Our services are available at two locations: Pontprennau Medical Centre and our branch site, St David's Medical Centre in Pentwyn.

Whether you're here for a routine check-up or a specific health concern, we are here to support you every step of the way. Our goal is to help you achieve and maintain optimal health and wellness.

Our practice is a partnership of three GPs: Dr Sally Davies, Dr Ben Robinson, and Dr Rhodri Hughes, supported by three salaried GPs. Additionally, we are a training practice, supporting GP registrars.

Zero Tolerance Policy 

At Pontprennau Medical Centre, we kindly ask our patients to treat all our staff members with the same level of respect you would expect to receive.

Our Reception Team are here to help guide you to the most appropriate healthcare professional to address your needs, which may not always be a GP.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for abusive conduct at Pontprennau Medical Centre. Any behaviour such as shouting, swearing, or threatening our colleagues will not be tolerated. Patients exhibiting such behaviour will be asked to leave the premises and may receive a written warning and/or be removed from our patient list. Our staff also reserve the right to contact the police in response to any threatening or violent behaviour.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time of unprecedented pressure on our services. We encourage you to work with us to ensure we can continue providing the best care possible.

The NHS Wales App is available at Pontprennau Medical Centre

Before you start

To use the NHS Wales App you must be registered with a GP in Wales.

You can access NHS Wales services such as making appointments*, ordering repeat prescriptions and viewing medication records using the App.

To access GP services online via the App, you must:

  • have a fully verified NHS login, or a valid photo ID to set one up
  • be aged 16 or over.

*Please note that availability shown on the app is upto date, if no routine appointments are available on the app, this will be the same if you contacted the surgery.
